The town of Ohrid is located on the north shore of Ohrid’s Lake and at an altitude of 700 meters. Its history, location, natural beauty, climate, recreation and entertainment allow rightly calling the place: “The pearl of Macedonia”.

Firstly, there is an old Slovenian architecture. The city respects an old building tradition and we can notice that by observing the medieval walls on the hill and on one part of the lake shore. In the old town which is densely populated, each house has its own beauty. Do not miss to visit the old town.

Ohrid Lake, with an area of 358 square kilometers, is the largest attraction in the country. Ohrid is the tourist capital of Macedonia. The lake is known for its clear water, its beaches and its rich and varied wildlife.

Ohrid is also known for its ancient monasteries and many churches. The monastery of St. Panteleimon in Ohrid (formerly Monastery of St. Clement) is a Byzantine monastery built in the tenth century. It is dedicated to the protector of the town: St. Clement of Ohrid.
